Buses

The dedicated bus lay-by area and bus shelter are situated on James Street. Students who travel to school by bus are expected to show responsible behaviour on the bus, follow the guidelines set in place by the bus company, and show respect to all other passengers.

The following guide outlines the bus services available for our students. Details may vary occasionally, and we recommend contacting bus companies directly for more accurate information.

General Access Bus Network

The General Access Bus Network offers common timetables and ticketing by grouping services by area, including offering intercity services between Devonport and Launceston and Launceston and Hobart.

Drop-off and Pick-up Zone

Students travelling to school by car should be dropped off in a safe area.  The following guidelines are for the use of the Drop-Off Zone at the James Street entrance and are aimed at improving safety.  Please remain alert to other vehicles and children in the vicinity.  

• The Drop-Off Zone starts at the pedestrian crossing and is marked as the lane to the left of the red line.
• It is designed to operate as a quick-moving taxi rank.
• Please stay in the queue and move forward as space becomes available, moving towards the western exit side (near the Vinnies donation bins).
• Please remain in the car while in the Zone and have students place school bags and other items in the car, not in the boot.
• If parents/carers choose to wait in the zone prior to the end of classes at the end of the school day, it is essential that their child(ren) arrive promptly; otherwise, the Zone will not flow freely.
• When exiting, please follow the signs and only turn to your left.
• There is a staff presence near the James Street Drop-Off Zone from 8:10am and 3:00pm.

Students who ride a bike to school are required to wear a helmet by law.  A bike rack is provided for students outside of the Caritas building in the senior courtyard.

Senior Student/Staff Car Park

Senior students with a driving licence may drive to school and from school.  A student car park is provided off Percy Street — left turn only when exiting the car park.  Students are not permitted to leave the College grounds in their car during the school day unless they have signed out with parental permission. Students park at their own risk, and the College accepts no liability for any damage or loss.

Staff Parking is also located off Percy Street.

Visitor Parking

Visitor parking is provided off the James Street entrance, first left turn from the turning circle.  An accessible car space is provided near the accessway to the Caritas Office.
