In a year of challenges and disruptions, we have worked hard to try to accommodate as many of the rites of passage that our students experience each year. The Senior Secondary Ball was later than usual, but provided the types of memories that we want them to take with them beyond school, and our Year 10s are blessed to have their Formal this week. In both cases, we have had to comply with COVID19 Safety Plans. The most significant interruption has been the inability for us to cater for visitors onsite to observe arrivals. This has been a silver lining, however, as this is a cause of anxiety for many.
We are hoping to accommodate a shortened Year 12 Retreat program, and I will be communicating with those students and their parents, directly.
We are keen to know what we do well, what we need to do more of, or what we need to improve. To this end, our College grievance procedures are a valuable communication tool. Anyone can visit our website and from the contacts, get access to a Concerns, Compliments and Complaints proforma. All entries are managed by our CCC officer and inform our school improvement process. Of course, I am always available to parents or the broader community.
Take care and I will keep you in my prayers.

One of the challenges of learning at home ín earlier terms was managing to work collaboratively in an effective manner. During Term Three, the Studies of Religion 3 classes have been incorporating a variety of different collaborative tasks to enhance their learning, revise previous units, and engage in rich conversations to identify and evaluate differing interpretations relating to religious and ethical issues.
The Australian Teacher Aide/Assistant Appreciation Week was held from the 31st August to 4th September 2020. St Brendan-Shaw College acknowledges the important role of Teacher Assistants, whose hard work and dedication make a real difference to students, teachers and our school community.
Vinnies visited on Thursday to collect the first round of filled Mens Dignity Swags.
Thankyou to everyone who has donated items so far! The collection continues until the end of term so please keep up the good work and keep donating! (a list of items needed is below)

SBSC competed against St Michael's Collegiate School in the Sports Association of Tasmanian Independent Schools 1st Senior Tennis Final at the Devonport Tennis Club on Wednesday. All our Grade 10s enjoyed coming down for the day to watch (and enjoy some hot chips in the sun!).
Collegiate defeated St Brendan-Shaw College 4-2 - congratulations.
