Welcome back to another Term at the College.
The Year 11 and 12 students began exams on Wednesday and I have had my prayer candle alight for them. I ask you to join me in keeping them in your prayers. You may choose to use the following that hangs in the SS Study space:
"Ever generous God,
You inspired St Mary MacKillop to live a life that brought constant hope and encouragement to those whom she encountered.
With confidence in your generous and loving providence, and together with St Mary,
we ask that you keep our Seniors in your care. Free them from anxiety and inspire them to perform at their best during their exams.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord.
Amen"
We have planned for the SS Ball to occur on Saturday 8 August at Devonport Country Club (at the Woodrising Golf Club). To accommodate the COVID Safety Plan that we have to adhere to, we've had to be creative in how we operate it. I will write to Year 11 and 12 parents, separately with details for the event. As a gesture of how much we value them, there will be no cost to the students for the evening.
At the end of last term I spoke to all students about uniform expectations. I apologise for not being timely with communication to parents, so, in essence, students have had a week, without consequence, to adhere to the expectations. In summary:
Students must wear full winter uniform to and from school. They may no longer travel in PE Uniform. Jewelry is to be understated, with rings banned for facial piercings. (A discreet nose stud is acceptable.) Facial hair for seniors needs to be well trimmed and well groomed, as should hair. And long hair must be tied back in all practical classes, and may require wearing a hair net.
I am off to class, now, so I will leave you with the knowledge that I will keep you in my prayers.

Tuesday 4th August: tours running at 9am, 9:45am, 11am and 12noon

From next week the Music rooms will be open and supervised for students to use during Tuesday and Friday lunchtimes. There will be a sheet posted outside the Main Music Room for you to assign your name to a Practice Room. This will ensure that the rooms are shared fairly between students. Music Rooms must be left clean and tidy at the end of each lunchtime. Any questions can be directed to Miss Doherty or Mr Peters.
Subject Selection Guide for 2021 is now available to students and families. It is available in digital form HERE, or students can now access it via their Student Portal in SEQTA.
Early next week there will be printed guides available to take home, these will be available in a more compact form for specific year groups (Years 7 & 8, Years 9 & 10, Years 11 & 12).
