This week we had the final farewell for the Class of 2022. Beginning with their Graduation Mass, the students gathered for the Valedictory Dinner at the Devonport Country Club. Again, their exceptional personal qualities were on display. It is this enduring feature of their character that we are most proud of being able to have contributed to. Like each of our graduating classes over the years, I note several who will study for professions such as medicine, law etc. I also note that again we will have above-average numbers who will achieve the TCE. However, whichever pathway they choose to follow, I know that the extra opportunities they have available as an SBSC student will assist them in being people with high levels of integrity and empathy. Those who enter into an area where they can exert influence will do so with a strong ethical foundation that will assist them when hard decisions need to be taken.
One of the graduates could not join us for a very good reason. The previous evening, Lachie Cowan was draft pick number 30 and flew off early Wednesday morning to join Carlton Football club. We are very pleased with Lachie's success, and there are several passionate Carlton supporters on staff unable to wipe extra big smiles off their faces. We wish him and the "navy blues" every success in 2023.
Next week the Year 10 students will kick off their final week of activities with a Careers Day on Monday, with the remainder of the week filled with a mixture of events designed to inform them as well as provide them with some joy.
Keep happy and stay safe.

Last night's Valedictory evening was the final event on our College calendar for our 2022 Year 12 Graduates. We began the evening with a beautiful Mass run by Father Steven at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Once the Graduates received their certificates and a blessing from all, we moved to the less formal part of the evening with a beautiful meal at the Devonport Country Club. The evening was a fantastic way to say our goodbyes and pass on well wishes to our outstanding 2022 Year 12 cohort.
