Principal's Message 9 December 2022
This will be the final Newsletter for 2022.
Term one next year begins on Friday, 3 February, for Year 7, 11, and 12 students, with Year 8, 9, and 10 students commencing on Monday, 6 February.
Our Business Manager, Ms Debbie Clarke, will leave us in early January to take up a new position interstate. She has been attracted away by the opportunity to work in a developing school in the Ballina region of New South Wales. In her seven years with us, Debbie has overseen a significant change in the various systems we use at the College. The introduction of new School Management System software was a major undertaking. Her commitment to improving our practices, especially where they serve the learning and safety of students, is second to none. She has high regard for good Governance practices, which are essential to ensuring our accountability. Her skills will be greatly missed; however, she has left us with highly efficient and well-functioning processes. We thank her for her commitment and loyalty to the College and wish her every success in her new challenge.
This is also my last Newsletter post. I take this opportunity to share that it has been a great privilege to serve the College's incredible staff, the parents, and our amazing students. I am humbled by the messages I have received. In my service, I have tried to live out our vision. There are times I got it 'right', and for this, I thank the School Leadership Team, whose advice has been instrumental in these successes. For parents, I have tried to live up to the expectations that you have had of me and to be authentic in my interactions.
However, I am most grateful for the hundreds of students I have been blessed to work with over the many years I have been at the College. They are a credit to their parents and teachers alike. Our Alumni are filled with exceptional people who are positive role models, leading by the quality of their character as much as by their expertise in their fields of endeavour. They will forever hold a special place in my heart.
So for the last time ... stay safe, keep happy, and I will keep you in my prayers.
Thank you, and fare well.
